An Open Letter to Sandra Bullock

Nathan, very funny letter to Sandy. I worked with her on "The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood" (say that five times fast... nevermind) and she was a real lady. Ashley Judd was lovely, too. But Sandy was the real thing. She would be delighted at your letter - well, maybe not just now but perhaps in a couple of years when the horror has faded from the press.

I remember sitting with Sandy, screening a rough cut of Ya Ya's for her, and an insert we'd shot of someone else's hands holding something her character had just picked up. She turned to me and said, "Whose hands are those??" I said, "I don't know, a Grips?" She stole my joke and used it during ADR later in the day. My lawyers could get nothing out of her.

Again, nice blog!
